Abstract
Ensuring the economic security of road transport infrastructure is the basis for guaranteeing the security of regions and the state and the foundation of state independence and a condition of progressive socio-economic development. This research is aimed at the development and testing of the methods of assessment of economic security of motor transport infrastructure that would make it possible to determine an integrated indicator of infrastructure provision. The hypothesis of the study is that a high value of the integrated indicator of infrastructure provision enables stronger national and regional competitiveness. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the fundamental provisions of economic security and development of motor transport in the region. Using a systemic approach it has been determined that the economic security of road transport infrastructure in a region could be defined as the ability of business entities operating the road network to protect their economic interests. The assessment of the condition of infrastructure facilities for motor transport of the individual regions of the Central and Southern Federal districts is given. The analysis of the level of the economic security of the road transport network of the re-gions of the Russian Federation has been performed, and an integral indicator reflecting its condition has been calculated. According to the accepted gradation of the levels of the economic security of road transport infrastructure, within the considered group of regions, Belgorod region has reliable economic protection, and the Rostov region is characterized by a relatively high level of economic security. Krasnodar region and Moscow region have a sufficient level of economic security. The results will make it possible to develop an organizational and economic mechanism of security, taking into account the characteristics and specific features of road transport activities in each region.
