Prospects of Formation of Information Economy in the Ural Region From the Perspective of Assessing the Level of the Reproductive Potential

Abstract
Abstract. In this article the interrelation of the reproduction potential level, social and economic development and the region’s informatization status is considered. By means of theoretical research, the comparative analysis of statistical data, and scoring and ranking methods conclusions about the reproduction potential level, the region’s economic development and informatization are received. By means of the «pyramidal» method and other methods the analysis of the region’s reproduction potential is carried out to define opportunities of effective economic development. The emphasis is placed on versatile research of the Ural region’s potential opportunities by the comparative analysis of dynamic ranks of economic indicators to define the region’s economic and social situation and its further development tendencies. In the article, the research results are partially summarized that were obtained by scientists and experts in the fields of the regional economy and informatization who focus on the problems of the formation of an information economy and information society. Taking into account the metrics of a rating of regions’s e-readiness, a trend rating of the economic development of the Russian regions, the analysis of the informational and technological potential and the Ural region’s informatization status is presented. During theoretical research the need of a strategy change and the need for the transition of the regional economy to an innovative way of development is proved. The Ural region as an industrial region needs an adjustment of its economic development strategy taking into account the introduction of technological innovations. Innovative technologies will promote the diversification of its economic structure and creation of new opportunities for the growth of its of reproduction potential, for the social and economic growth, for universal penetration of hi-tech production, in particular with the application of new information technologies. As a result, the regional economic system will have opportunities for successful formation of an information-based, innovative economy. The conclusions received during the analysis indicate the direction for further applied research in which key factors of economic development, and their influence on the efficiency of regional economic activity will be defined.
