Abstract
Improving the efficiency and competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises is one of the most important factors of economic development of the country. Currently a lot of discussion is going on about the necessity of introduction of modern technologies and high-performance equipment, but very little is said about the fact that one of the ways of increasing the efficiency of industrial enterprises is by increasing productivity and reducing costs by lowering the level of misconduct by employees. The study aims to identify, describe, and organize intra-organizational institutions that influence the level of opportunism in manufacturing companies. To achieve this goal, empirical research methods were used to study institutional environments of industrial enterprises. The study focused on the institutional environments of enterprises of the rocket and space industry as the most technologically advanced and competitive industry. The study presents a description of the institutional environment of employees’ opportunism. It is noted that as the company practically has no influence on the external institutional environment in order to control the opportunism of its employees, the main attention should be paid to the study of technological factors and internal enterprise institutions that affect the level of opportunism of the employees. In addition, technological factors and organizational institutions were identified and described that affect the level of opportunism of employees and managers of Russian enterprises at the stage preceding the signing of contracts and after its conclusion. It was determined that the level of opportunism is influenced by institutions that are common to all manufacturing enterprises, and the specific characteristic of a particular enterprise or industry in general. The system of opportunism management institutions in companies was enhanced and selected institutions specific to the space industry, as well as the mechanism of the impact of governance institutions on the level of opportunism in enterprises was identified. Opportunism governance institutions were systematized according to the application time frame and subject of influence.
